How to configure SSO for Xcelsius Dashboard deployed in NetWeaver portal?

Iu2019m currently working on a project that will utilize the new SAP BusinessObjects 4.0 as our front-end and data sources will be coming from SAP BW and SQL Server.

We are in the phase of assessing our options of how to connect Dashboard 4.0 to both data sources without significant performance issue. Keep in mind that there are requirements where a single dashboard screen will consume data from both BW and SQL simultaneously. We tried following options:

u2022 Option 1,

   1. For BW data source, use WebIntelligence BICS (Direct access to BW BEX Query) and build BI Web Service on top of that

   2. For SQL data source, use Universe, WebIntelligence, and build BI Web Service on top of that

   3. Connect both WebService in a single dashboard

   4. Deploy the dashboard in BI Login Pad (BO Portal)

u2022 Option 2,

   1. For SQL data source, use Universe, WebIntelligence, and build BI Web Service on top of that

   2. For BW data source, use SAP NetWeaver BW connection directly connect to BEX Query from Xcelsius ([here|http://blog.mastering-sap-and-businessobjects.com/2011/04/19/sap-businessobjects-dashboards-40-and-sap-netweaver-bw.aspx])

   3.Add Query as a Web Service connection (for SQL Server web service from the first step) in the same dashboard from previous step

   4. Deploy the dashboard in SAP NetWeaver portal

We feel for option 1, performance for data coming for SAP BW data source is quite poor, so we are more incline to go with option 2 as option 2 provide better performance for SAP BW data source (performance for SQL data source for both options are similar).

The only problem we had if we go for Option 2 is the dashboard will prompt us to enter BO credentials every time the dashboard loads. We have successfully configured the SAP BW to NetWeaver SSO and SAP BW to BusinessObjects SSO, but I think for NetWeaver (where the dashboard is deployed) SSO back to BO are not configured as we donu2019t know how to do it.

Our web investigation only show us how to configure SSO from BO to BW ([here|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/GeneratekeystoreandcertificateforSAPBOBI4.0]) and from NetWeaver BO Integration ([here|http://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/BOBJ/BI4IntegrationintotheSAPEntreprisePortal7.0.x]). None give us light to configure SSO from Dashboard object stored in SAP NetWeaver portal.

Does anyone have any idea on how to configure NW Enterprise Portal to be able to do SSO back to BO Web Service?
